I had my laptop open on my hospital bed the day after both of my deliveries.

No maternity leave. No boundaries. No mention of my children to clients.

I thought that was what it took.

It was the performance tax — and I didn't even know I was paying it.

Most female executives are paying it too. Every single day. In boardrooms, in meetings, in the quiet exhaustion of being someone you're not for eight, ten, twelve hours straight.

Here are 4 signs you're leading from performance instead of sovereignty:

🎯 You over-explain your decisions instead of standing in them.

🎯 You speak more aggressively, projecting dominance through volume and posture. True ownership of power means knowing your leadership signature and leading from that – Feminine authority is powerful as well.

🎯 You're exhausted after meetings where you "should" feel energized. Because you've been performing, not leading.

🎯 You don't recognize yourself anymore. The version of you at work feels like a stranger.

Sovereignty means leading as yourself—without the armor. It's not about being fearless. It's about being real. 🙌🏼

Here's something I've been learning:

Authenticity isn't a personality trait. It's a practice. 💯

It's not about being perfectly yourself all the time. It's about catching yourself mid-performance and deciding to stop.

Yesterday I was on a call and caught myself doing that thing where I over-explain to make sure everyone's comfortable.

And halfway through I just... stopped.

Said what I meant. Let it land. Didn't apologize for it.

The world didn't end.

That's the work. One real sentence at a time. 💙
